Hello all... pretty new here and am looking for information on a driveshaft for 1950 mack... specifically does the shaft have to line up with the rear axle in any specific way or is it as simple as lining up the bolt holes and securing?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

You want the u joints to line up. Just check it in case someone has taken the shaft apart at the slip joint.

The old style yoke with all the bolts "usually" can bolt up any way. Take a look and see if someone stamped marks for putting it back together. If not marked, should be good to go.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.
