4400 White Posted October 24, 2014 Share Posted October 24, 2014 I am looking at a 1986 R model that is for sale along way from home and I am looking for some engine serial number help. The truck has an engine in it with the serial number 5P1162 and it has a spare engine that has the serial number 6W1312 and I am wondering if anyone can tell from the serial number what the engines are and if they are the same? j hancock Posted October 24, 2014 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Take a look at the cast housing that contains the timing gears ahead of the injection pump. It will be stamped on the top side with ENDT 676, ETAZ 677 for example. That will help narrow it down. Quote JimIt doesn't cost anything to pay attention.
