Nice. My dad owned a U model just like that. He wanted to convert it to a form truck for carrying foundation panels. The economy tanked (late '80s/early '90s) and he ended up selling it.

I'd like to own an R model from the '70s or '80s someday.

by the looks of that sheet metal screwed patch on the back of the cab it could stand to be recabbed again and 5 spoke hubs are usually 34,000 rears not 38's. still unique with a 285 in it and roadranger

5 spokes are 38s too. 44 and up seem to be 6

could have been new as a fleet truck for Ryder or someone. most all their R and U models had 9 and 10 speed roadrangers. and its about damn time you spoke up Vinster!? how long do we have to wave a U model in front of your nose for you to come out now a days??? your slacking!
