The question I have is, did the '58 C85's come with the square headlights? I will post more about this truck after the Thanksgiving Holiday. Hope all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!! The correct headlights can be found if you want to get it back to original. I assume it has a 707 in it. Let's see some more pictures. farmer52 Posted November 28, 2014 Share Posted November 28, 2014 Good lookin' fire truck. I don't think the mirrors are original since that style came in the late 60s or early 70s. I think GM was the first to use that style on their pickups.I agree, not many can say they own a fire truck. During my career, I drove a 1959 Mack "C-85F" ladder truck. It had dual headlights and the '58s did also. If you can, obtain a copy of Harvey Eckart's book, "Mack Model C Fire Trucks, 1957 - 1967 Photo Archive". It shows the different single and dual headlight setups that Mack used. Early FDNY "C"s and a few others had single headlights. In the early 80's it was sent to F.A.C.T in Wichita Falls Texas to be rebuilt to look like what it does today. I have my work cut out for me to return it to its former glory.
