Did they start with 1001 for each individual model on the '81 on up Macks that have these modern VIN #'s like they did with the old system,or did they start with 0001? I always assumed,which I know you shouldn't do,that they did start with 1001. Can anyone confirm this? Main reason I'm asking is I located a '85 RW612 and the last 4 numbers is 1001,which I would guess to be 1st one off the line.

thats kinda what I was thinking,I know my 1st Superliner was a '85 RW613-001114 and my green one that Dad got new in '85 is RW613-001243. This RW612 I found on CL is no longer a single axle,but looked to be in nice shape.
