Hello,

I am new to the forum-I hope I can get some clarification. I am looking for an R model Mack that will be used to haul equipment. I once had a one stack mack r model with a 250 hp 5 speed, I was grossing 66,000 lbs and it actually performed great. I want to get a tandemn Mack R model between the years 83-89 (I think the hood design changed in 1990?) but I am confused about the motor, dont know if I should get a 300 or 350. We still have an R model mack in our fleet- but I never have been around any other motors than the 250. Are the 300-350 motors as dependable and have the longevity of the 250. I am not interrested in a computerized motor-I want to stay old school
