Great to look at and contain a lot of information. Does anything like this exist for the R model ? 57 bcr Posted January 25, 2015 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Iconografix did put out a book "Mack Trucks Photo Gallery" that has pics from all years of Trucks. The book includes some rare R model prototype factory pics(dating back to Oct.'61). As far as a specific R Model book,don't think there is one. Sounds like they ought to put one together, though! Collected 'em all.Have never seen a R-model one. Popular Post Green Dash Posted January 25, 2015 Popular Post Share Posted January 25, 2015 I was thinking that maybe it was too soon for a book but it's been 11 years already since the last Legend rolled off the line. Then again, the R model in general was a legend in it's own time and, in part due to it's longer production run, has made a bigger mark on history than the B model. Same with models, imagine if Franklin Mint had done a late 80's RD600 along the lines of the 1/43 BMack Dump, instant success! Then follow it up with a tractor/lowboy combo! Also have several of the 1/25 scale "High Detail" B models.I'd give my eye teeth if they would put together a run of the R models in that larger, more detailed scale.Maybe a BMT edition?!!!!They say they'll consider making anything...for a fee.Maybe one of the "o-fficials" here should call FirstGear, and discuss an R-series with them?I'll sign up for the first run! 2 Quote "Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines."
