Why are the U and R front directional lamps located differently? The U models are about midway on the front fender and the R models are mounted near the front.

Just a quick thought-the radius of the B fender. Having it too far forward would have the signal blinking at the ground and/or in the drivers face.

The R model was a bit more square allowing the signal to be placed forward more.

Might not be correct, but I am watching Kelly Cass right now, so my mind is following another radius

I thought they were easer to hit and thus do more damage to the fiberglass, I always thought of mickey mouse ears when I see a r model turn signals, reminds me of a after thought that was poorly placed..............but hey that's just my thoughts

The turn signals mounted mid way on the U model fenders do two things. 1) Further back the help move the center of gravity back to prevent see sawing. 2) Being mid way they are less prone to damage if it falls over on it's side due to over weight driver.
