I have a deal pending on a parts truck it has aluminum frame rails is there a market for these instead of cutting them up for scrap? I bought it because I need some replacement parts which this truck has still on it I will have a front axle beam which has a set of budds hubs on it as well I will post up parts I will not need use myself when disassembly starts but I was most interested if I could sell the frame as a whole.

Seems to be something rare anymore, ranchopper. Even that there are any(aluminum frames) intact is amazing. As long as major corrosion/cracking hasn't rendered it useless,I'm sure somebody on here will be able to find a home for them. Al

IF YOU BOUGHT IT, A TRUCK BROUGHT IT..AND WHEN YOU'RE DONE WITH IT, A TRUCK WILL HAUL IT AWAY!!! Big John Trimble,WRVA

Does the front axle have brakes on it, how much are you asking for it.

I will check the front axle out for you when the truck gets here sure wish I had this truck before I had the axle beam shipped here from Oregon to put under my RS.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a 70 Peterbuilt 262" W.B. tractor with an aluminum frame that we ran until 1989 with no problems in California. The rails have shown up as retro fit bumpers, and work well as planking on low bed trailers used to haul pad food compactors such as Cat 815's and 825's

Up until two years ago I would regularly gross 120,000+ with my aluminum framed 79 w900. No worries truck handled it fine.

I've seen them around working hard yet too... I don't know why they had such a bad reputation.....

Fun is what they fine you for!

My name is Bob Buckman sir,. . . and I hate truckers.
