Press Release / February 19, 2014

Walmart Canada's Supercube is a 60-foot, 6-inch trailer combined with a COE tractor and drome box. It allows Walmart to ship up to 40 percent more merchandise compared to a standard 53-foot tractor-trailer combination. The company says it reduces transportation costs by 24 percent, and greenhouse emissions by 14 percent.

remember hearing some talk about this a while back when it was an idea.

some of there drivers have a hard time with a 53, now give them a 60 AND a longer tractor--O LORD

empty the trailer, drop trailer, back to dock, slide drom back, then reverse the process?

Ed also the air bag lever, might get confusing. Put a roll up on the front of the 53 and would do away with the drop and hook.

Ok... Call me crazy but why incur the expense for the drome box to slide to the back of the tractor. Why not put a roll up door on the front of the trailer and a flip-over diamond plate ramp to the drome box and unload the whole thing at once. Less time, less movement of the truck (safer too), less complex without the mechanical system to slide the drome.... etc etc...

But what do I know.

EDIT: Sorry Tim... I didn't fully read your post and basically duplicated it.
