Good question,Joe. I've only seen a few of those myself. Wonder why it didn't last too long in the option dept.? Maybe having 5 reverse gears trumped only having 2? I don't know????? Al

my money is on a Duplex. If I remember right,the compound stick for both the lo hole and overdrive versions of the old style 6 speed was closest to the driver.

In 1966 the six speed was not around so it could be a duplex on up to a quad.

The 6spd I'm my 78 high low and Rev stick was away from the driver and 1-5 was by your leg

I drove two early Maxi's back in 71 one was direct with only first and reverse low-low and the other one was an overdrive that you would shift only in 5th (to the dash) and both compound sticks were next to the seat and the overdrive stick was shorter

That's what I remembered too,Ernie. I'd love to find one of those with overdrive.
