First time for everything?

2003 CV713 snowplow.

In the past six months I've probably changed 20 ETech flywheel housing but this week, I first encountered the dowel pin in the crank flange used to locate the flywheel sheared off. No one amongst the shop has ever seen it, had a helluva time getting a pin.

Flywheel wasn't loose, runout/endplay all good. Anyone seen this, ideas on a cause?
