Guy, who suppied Israel with vehicles in the early times?

British army? Or any international support programm?

I was told Soviet Union sold to Israel a lot of arms after WW2 including captured German tanks and aircrafts.

Is that true?

Thank you for posting that nice shot.

Vlad,

only thing i can assume, the NM was ex British army truck, the last Brits left Israel at 15 may 1948 and a lot of their equipment changed hands, such as Many Mack NR with 131 HP Lanova engines. the biggest diesels we had back than...

Germany signed remedy agreement with Israel in 1952 because of the Holocaust.

Many trucks and Industrial equipment made the way to Israel, such as Mack B31P with a German Henschell 100 HP engine .

never heared about tanks and airplanes.

well some chechoslovakia Avia airplane, replica of German M109 Me aircraft came to Israel, but it was in 1948 era. before the remedy agreement had

been signed.

Paul, that's a good question.

Dead Sea is a lake with too high salt concentration although I'm in doubt it could carry a 100 ton road train on it's surface :)

Thanks

Paul

I only knew the answer because we saw it up close in the mid 80's when we visited friends in Israel. I spend most time at Latrun Museum, the Railway Museum and the IDF museum in Tel Aviv and just looking around. Paul

Don't the cops carry the Uzi over there? It's a serious place. You need to think twice before you get out of line over there. Tough crowd. Lots of history and I'd love to go there myself but with all the issues in that next of the woods I'll stay home. So far no big issues at the grand canyon etc. Unless they let me carry an Uzi..Hmmm...that might work.

Hell, a lot of DiBlasi's special people carry them in NYC. UZI, MAC 10's or Ghost guns

Guy Im sure it is a lot safer than portrayed on the TV news

The news people only ever publish bad news so dont be to hard on us all as we only get to see is what they show us

Just from my point of view as a farmer in Australia farming in the driest inhabited continent. Anywhere thats hot and dry and they farm successfully Im interested in and there trucks and the history of the place

As for or the other stuff on the news well all places around the world have there own problems

They have shifted some big loads over there with Macks over the years on an Australian forum Im on there's a fella on there that grew up in Israel and he shares some pretty amazing photo's of trucks in Israel

Paul,

where are you located, iv'e crossed big areas in QLD, NSW even been diesel mechanic, Australia is a great place.

I Know the guy from Israel in the Australian forum, he is great expert and one of the best we know in Israel for all types of historic trucks and machines.

We share with Australia the need to improvise when it come to heavy loads just because we far away from "mother" America.

Guy, just a bit curious. Why did a lot the MACKS we saw when we visited, had the headlights moved down to the bumpers. Is it a law for how high the lights can be? Paul

Chevy 41

Hope you enjoyed the visit, there is a lot to see.

US origin headlamps were:

1) Too high so they re located to the bumper.

2 )Israel use European standard for A-simetric headlights, means the left headlight beam is pointed a bit to the left to prevent glare of the driving coming towards you. some american manufacturers don't use this system so the whole headlight components had to be replaced,

Hello!

There was this joke - during the Arab-Israeli wars an Arab company is patrolling and they see an Israeli soldier coming from behind a dune - he sees the Arabs, waves at them and shows them some obscene gestures. The Arab officer orders his unit to attack. They chase the Israeli and aftera while come back to the officer - all badly beaten up and bruised. He asks - what happened? The soldier say: It was a trap. There were two of them!

Have a nice day

Spent 1 1/2 months in Israel, it was an amazing trip to many museums, battle fields and seeing friends. Paul
