Could be switch. You should be able to tell what breaker it is if it's tripping. How much draw and what size wire did you use.

We the unwilling, Lead by the unqualified, are doing the impossible, for the ungrateful.

If it happens when it gets wet, look at the connectors to see if they are weather proof and tight, the wires to see it there is chaffed wires that get wet and short out. The flashing with the rear light when the spreader is running could be from the vibrations grounding out the harness to the lights. I would look close at the connectors, harness and grounds.

If the switch is getting hot, then I would either replace with a BIGGER switch that can carry the current better or use a relay that is controlled by the switch. Much safer.

After the lights go out, what does it take to make them go back on? Do they do it automatically? Then likely there is a circuit breaker that is tripping. If you have to wiggle wires, then it is a connection.

Freightrain is right, if the switch is hot your pulling too many amps thru it, put the lights on a relay using no smaller than 14 Ga supply wire and use the switch to activate the relay.

strobe lites draw a lot of power. LED-not so much.

Put the strobe on a separate line and see what happens
