When I got the truck it would hop a little on the low side from 2 into 3 I figured new truck, home made cab air ride, seat was loose etc... any how while i was at the truck show last weekend I noticed that one of the torque rod bushings was loose and so I ended up doing some work to them.Also found time to turn the new hood in to the paint guy.I replaced the torque rod bushings, took off and redid the axle bump stops as one was cracked, replaced all the cab mounts and made it solid mount to match the sleeper, took off both battery boxes and air tanks cleaned and painted the brackets and replaced the rubber mounts.This afternoon we did a Family "work" Party and finished stripping the sleeper floor and lower panels. 5 Quote Robert"I reject your reality and substitute my own." Also found some time to change some wheel studs and get theses new rims mounted and add the paddle latches to the sleeper, probably over kill on the rivets but all I could find is 1/8th inch and the others were 1/4.If everything goes right might be able to drop the truck off at painters this weekend. 4 Quote Robert"I reject your reality and substitute my own." Lmackattack Posted July 25, 2015 Share Posted July 25, 2015 If I can make a suggestion before you paint it...The muffler to cab brackets are a real pita to keep the stacks straight. It looks like your passenger stack is already a little crooked. I gave up trying to straighten mine out and made my own cab brackets that hold my 5" pipes. Popular Post thomastractorsvc Posted August 18, 2015 Author Popular Post Share Posted August 18, 2015 Update of a few things that got taken care of over the last couple weeks.Got the sleeper doors recovered, found some vents and some trim pieces they are about 1/2 inch smaller than the original. I think I installed about 200 rivets. Polished the new used bumper and had the hood bezel stripped of chrome since it is aluminum plan on polishing it see how it turns out. Noticed that the lettering was different size font on the numbers on one side the number 12 is about 4 inches and it is almost 7 on the other side. The name and dot numbers were about the same size. Checked out the truck yesterday maybe only 20% completed. School starts on Thursday so I am going to go hang like I did with the R when I had it painted. 4 Quote Robert"I reject your reality and substitute my own." I bought a shrinker and stretcher to redo the front opening need a little more practice then I will give it a try.
