Hello, I own a 1986 Mack{Renault} cs200 midliner.. I am having a terrible time locating the part number for the Right Rear{ passenger} brake chamber.. Wondering if anyone has any experience with these things and can provide any info? I called my local Mack dealer and got the usual== snickered at and told to buy a new truck, followed by an astronomical price quote , followed by a refusal to give a part number so I could source elsewhere.... Thanks for any help in advance..

They're probably Renault or Volvo parts.

You can try interweb search for any European Renault parts trader and show them pics of the stuff together with the VIN.

Not shure they will be too likely to dig out an old truck parts lists and than provide send owerseas. But that might be a way if no others.

I use to do such deals on the constant basis although it takes time and a lot of attention.

A CS/MS of that vintage in a 200 series model should have front hydralic disc brakes and rear "S" cam air brakes. On a 200 series Midliners used a type 24/24 brake chamber 300 series used a type 30/30 chamber. Any north American chamber should fit. Be cautious as the air lines to the chamber are metric and an adapter from metric to standard will be at the chamber. The chamber is a standard thread chamber.

Thanks for the help thusfar.. more digging today provided that the unit is not a standard 24/24 chamber.. The unit is a lockheed {england} chamber air/hydraulic.. mack part number is [old} =4103 5000 243 790.. NEW Mack number is 8511 5412.. however, these numbers dont correlate to any aftermarket part.. in fact, the numbers dont correlate to anything as a cross reference to lockheed.. Mack has a way of NOT wanting you to be able to easily find parts...

Hard to believe an air over hydraulic brake chamber for a Midliner is over $1,300.00 isn't it? Open the link below to the Euclid catalog and look at page 77. All the parts are listed with Euclid part numbers. Not sure if they are still available since the takeover by Meritor but it's worth a shot.

Yes, very ugly!.... yes, in 1987 they went to full air brakes.. I did locate a chamber on ebay with the help of the Euclid parts diagram{ thanks to that poster} and a lot of phone calls.. I hope the chamber itself is not specific to side though. It seemed like the diagram indicated that only the pedestal assembly was specific for right/left side.. Ihave my fingers crossed because finding one WAS finding a needle in a haystack!

I have a 1994 200CS 200 Mac Renault and can't find the brake reservior??

Any help out there??

Assuming you are talking about a hydraulic master cylinder/reservoir assembly.  There are several options, would need to know the last 6 of the VIN and whether you have disc or drum brakes.

Where can I find this master cylinder\reservoir assembly

Neo you should pry start your own thread for all your questions. You have resurrected about 6 topics back from the dead. If you start your own, you can get all your info in one place and also be notified when someone gives you more info.

Yea honestly it just makes sense. That’s what I need to start doing, is just buying them. Once they are gone they are gone. That’s when they really become worth money especially if someone needs the info. Knowledge/information like that is truly priceless though.

yes sir... I have 2 spare sets of 200 series tranny books and an extra set of 300 series books, plus Mack rears and drive shaft books and failure analysus books and so no..  I may sell 1 of each set, as a set...  jojo
