I always thought these were neat looking trucks, this one looks in good shape, just need to swap the dripdroit for a Cummins!.........................................Mark

I does seem like a waste to have all that hood and put a 6-71 under it, but I'm sure it made sense to whoever spec'd it that way.

Looks like there's plenty of room under the hood. I bet it's gonna be easy to work on. I figured the hood would open sideways like a B model, but it tilts forward, and the fenders stay with the frame. The hood is surprisingly, very light. It's a neat little truck.

They did have butterfly hoods early on. Look on Hendrickson thread in the "other truck makes" column. Should be plenty of pics there! Again, nice find! Al

IF YOU BOUGHT IT, A TRUCK BROUGHT IT..AND WHEN YOU'RE DONE WITH IT, A TRUCK WILL HAUL IT AWAY!!! Big John Trimble,WRVA

Cool, I thought I'd seen pics of them with butterfly hoods. What would the model designation for a truck like this be? I don't know much about them. There were a couple of tandem dump trucks running around down here in the 90's, but they had IH Fleetstar cabs instead of the R series cab.

Jake,

I believe that would be a BD series Hendrickson. The Fleetstar cabbed ones were H models. The S-series cabbed ones were the VT-100's. Al

Cool, I'm a little ignorant when it comes to non-Macks. If I buy this one, it'll be the first truck I've ever owned that wasn't a Mack. Thanks for the info, Al!

Thanks for flopping it back over on its wheels, OD. I'd post a lot more stuff if I could figure out how to post the greasy side down with an iPhone.

i like your truck a lot. If I turn my phone with the volume buttons down when I take the picture, then they seem to post O.K. Hope this helps.
