Does that battery box hold two n70 batteries? Might get one for my R model of so. Seems to be good quality.

most usually they fit two Group 31 batteries

not sure of your numbering system but this link may help

http://www.batterystuff.com/kb/tools/bci-battery-group-sizes.html

box dimensions are... 18" long x 14" wide x 10" high

note... there is a "lighter duty" version in the PAI book, p/n FBB-4635, it does not have the side mounting holes or reinforcing angles.. I bought the "heavy duty" FBB-4986..

Vlad,

the rubber latch is included

trial fit into my MH this weekend...

Farmer

I would say NOT the same, there are a few minor differences, the way the top lip for the cover is rolled and the mount for the rubber latch is bolted where my original is spot welded..

Once I tracked down the costs and got the lighter version 4635 more expensive than the heavy one.

And looks like I'm far from the need of the box at the moment :whistling:

Vlad

don't get worried...

one year ago my rear chassis looked like yours... "my summer project" of weekends, just plodding away, your MH will soon be glorious..!!!!

if you need a real "time bandit" then restore an old seated coach.. trucks are SO easy in comparison..!!!

BC Mack

BC, my hats off to your seated coach deal.

There was very interesting Russian intercity bus of the 50's - ZIS-127.

Two stroke diesel, 60mph, aircraft seats, 851 example built.

There are remains of 5 or 6 now in existance.

One relatively solid is possibly avalible to get.

Need lots of work sure.

If I want to have a bus I would go that way.

But I know it would be a death.

Your right Paul,

That Russian two stroker was a slightly reworked copy of 71 series.

Had metric hardwear though. That's not good because I can't steal any rusty bolt from it to put on my Mack.

They were 4 and 6 cylinder engines, were in production up middle 60's.

Seems like a good thing in General.

Minor filing doesn't seem to me as a trouble. Worth $300 on my mind.

If it finally sits well and able to hold bataries I would say it's good work out.

Thanks again for sharing the experience.

BC, thank you for pointing out the nuances.

Nobody can do it as perfect if hasn't put his hands on.

Glad to see the work checked off the list.

I used the 4635 bottoms and 4636 tops for my B model and have held up good until I lost a top on the way back from Iowa...the guy down at the napa store got me another 4636 top for 65.00 and i thought all was good till they added 25.00 shipping...what can you say!!!!...Jim
