Dutchie2007 Posted May 31, 2015 Share Posted May 31, 2015 Hi, I have a 2000 CX 460 etech and for the last month it's been stuttering of and on and the manifold pressure varies a lot with the footpedal down. Sometimes pressure increases sometimes no response to throttle. Most pressure I ever get is 25 psi if I get any. Could it be fuel transfer pump not working like it should? It got new fuel filters n no difference . Sometimes my truck runs 75 with a tailwind, other days it barely pull 55!I have been checking the forum but haven't been able to solve problem yet. Looked at check valve n it looked fine. Took for T27 screws of transfer pump n didn't see anything concerning, but hiw do you know if that thing is bad? I haven't checked the fuel pressure but to me that could be the problem. When I try to accelerate the manifold pressure might rise in spurts to 25 psi n without warning drop back to 10 psi. wheeler73 Posted May 31, 2015 Share Posted May 31, 2015 The supply pump could be the problem. You will need to remove it to see of the gear is spinning on the shaft. That is a common issue. I would check the fuel pressure first. Also the restrictive fitting (check valve) can be bad. If the pump is bad I always replace the restrictive fitting at the same time. And thank you carpilot, but I have been accelerating by pushin accelerate button for cruise control , to see if it had to do with pedal, and it would still stall or sputter! While not touching the pedal with my foot. That's why I concluded that it wasn't a accelerator pedal problem!? Dutchie2007 Posted June 2, 2015 Author Share Posted June 2, 2015 1-42-56-1Thanks Milton , but I checked on the forum n it threw the ambient temperature sensor code because we had it unhooked. Other codes are for fuel gauge and front differential which is unhooked so that makes sense. I haven't been able to check my transfer pump yet (again) , because we are to busy harvesting. Still like to hear more suggestions, but for now I wanna check fuel pressure / transfer pump , when we gave a chance. mm826 Posted July 26, 2015 Share Posted July 26, 2015 I'm broke down now in va. I think I need a fuel pump on 1999 ch-613. No power, low boost, but low pyro temp. Hardly idles now. Is the primer pump the actual fuel pump ?
