i got this truck a while back with a 12 speed in it. there is a toggle switch on the dash that says lo and direct on it. it works fine, when it is in lo the only gear it will let you use is first. perfect for taking off with a load to save the clutch. but it dont like it when you flip that switch on the move. what am i missing? i dont get on the net very often so i apologize if it takes me a long time to respond. any info would be much appreciated. thanx

yep as above dont use it while your moving it is only for lifting off in real difficult going real big load on a real big hill or on really rough ground

the deep reduction is huge step and you will most likely never need it

The range switch on the dash operates a funky shift arrgt. in the rear cover. Don't try it moving, or you'll be in for a world of hurt and repair bills.
Seen the aftermath, it ain't good. Mostly because it's a slow-as-hell-shift and lacks anything but a pneumatic interlock.

As has been said above, I had a truck that had a stick instead of a air switch. You could shift it on the go.

My latest truck has a air shift but I haven't tried shifting it on the go. I'll heed the advise above.
