jmilici Posted July 30, 2008 Share Posted July 30, 2008 Hello all. I'm new to the Mack thing. I just purchased a 2000 Mack, CX618. It has a Mack 460 hp engine, 13sp Eaton with 3.70 rears. What is the optimum high idle. My manual says 1200 to warm the truck up but I'm looking to know for when sleeping for the least amount of wear and tear when idling is necessary. Lmackattack Posted July 31, 2008 Share Posted July 31, 2008 I like to just set the idle RPM up to the pont that it lets the oil press get up to 45-50 PSI.
