While waiting at Gabrielli MACK today for some parts to be located, I was reading the blerb on the M Drives. Now my question was there ever an Auto in older MACKS? Not bus or Fire chassis but R, U, DM and others? Allison AT-740 or other auto ever offered as an option? Paul

I Dont know myself i was wondering the same

I Have always been around & drove manuals in a class 6-8 truck .

I was told by the State of TN Recently If i want my B Class CDL Back after getting my health back in good shape I would be restricted to an Automatic due to the Mild Case of Cerebral Palsy in my left hand & leg , left side in general .

. it has been 8 years now if it was 5 or under i would just have to take the written test but now i gotta go through the whole thing again .

(i wasn't restricted before but now they told me no exceptions)

(i lost them in 07' Due to health reasons & couldnt pass the DOT Physical) But now i wont argue with them i just want my CDL Back so eventually i can get a Single Axle dump to go with the lawn service i'm starting next year . Plus an automatic will be easier on myself due to the left hand .

Allison automatics were a factory option on the MR, R, RB, RD6, RD8, U, DM, RWI Super-Liner and MH Ultra-Liner.

Allison's MT654CR, HT740D, HT740RS, HT750DR and HT754CR could be paired with the E6-270, E6-275, E6-300 and E6-350, or Cummins NTC350/Formula 350, NTC365/Formula 365 and NTC400/Formula 400.

And the Allison MT643 was available behind the Caterpillar 3208 in DM492 and MR492 chassis for municipal and government orders.

We have an 83 rd e6 350 with an Allison hd750 behind it factory. Also have a granite with a mp7 with an Allison.

I also heard mack made a handful of e9s with and Allison behind them special order to pull around airplanes at an airport. That combo would be fun to play with.

Hmmm, E9, Allison pulling truck maybe! Perhaps a drag racer!
