From looking the pic your pump absolutely sure has its own oil bath. Separated from the engine, has the seal over the drive shaft in front.

Looks generally the same as my American Bosch off Lanova. My manual tells true about it though.

You better check out the info for your pump.

Because I know the only reason for those two spots in the pump.

I myself is far from to be a great Mack fuel pump specialist but my book tells "fill the pump" and "drain it through the plug".

Also I had a deal with German Bosch fuel pumps off Mercedes car of early 70's and they had separate oil bath. With fill neck and plug.

Later models became connected to engine oil gallery and had no such stuff.
