excavator Posted July 9, 2015 Share Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) I had many mack tandems but this R685t single axle I have needs gear oil fill and I don't have proper instructions. j hancock Posted July 11, 2015 Share Posted July 11, 2015 It has been a day or two for me, but the fill /level plug on the back of the housing is what was used. Depending on which axle assembly you have, it was like 28-32 pints of lube. The ring gear carriers the lube to the upper pinion bearings when in motion.
