I did the usual walk-around this morning before I left and saw them flying around to-and-fro. Saw the hole they were going in and out of- it was only about 10 feet from where I abandoned the mower and took off running. I had practically been standing on top of it when I went back looking for a nest, and never saw a thing. So I went to the shed and prepared my weapons- the Yuengling can is full of Citgo unleaded gasoline. I poured the gas in the hole, then sprayed a trail of starting fluid back about 10 or 12 feet and flicked my Bic. fxfymn Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Nice work; and you know it was a deep hole when the gas caused an explosion in China.The last yellow jacket nest I found was under one of the Crepe Myrtle trees so I figured I better come up with a better strategy than my usual gasoline bomb. When I went back the next day a skunk had dug the entire nest up and eaten the young bees. Always knew they were good for something.
