Hey. I have a 79 RS600l. It is a low mileage truck and has never had any suspension/bushing work done. I don't know camelbacks well at all. But what im noticing is that after turning a corner and parking; the axles dog track a bit. The front drive axle seems to go one way or another more so then the back but its hard to tell. Then it seems to straighten out going down the road. Is this at all ''normal''? Do I have something that is severely worn out?

If everything seems to straighten out after the curve, it is normal. Mack used rubber mounted trunnion as well as brass but both utilized rubber at the axle to spring mount so there is movement in corners.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

yer used to drive a 1972 r 600 carting logs back wheels would come out a full tyre width when cornering good in the mud never caused any dramas we used to call it walk about suspension passed regerstration every year no problem 4 the six years I drove it so I don't think u have a lot to b concerned about regards ray

It does sound like you are speaking of the Mack bogie's self-steering design capability (which results in reduced tire wear).

Having said that, and assuming that you have rubber trunnion bushings, they could be in bad shape simply because they're 36 years old. Rubber deteriorates over time.......low mileage doesn't matter.

Well that's sure great to hear. I thought for sure I had a $5k + shop bill in my near future to have some bushings done.

It depends on how much there moving,if there walking out just turning a normal corner im thinking you need work done especially if you have brass.

Wow, that's cool. Never knew this. You have some bangin' Mack literature... I love reading it.
