Construction company in Iowa City use to have a bunch of the Diamond Reo version of that one,6V53 Detroits with Allisons. They were pretty low budget and always got the bid to work on the streets in Morning Sun.You definitely knew they were in town.

drove a 1960 REO YEARS AGO LOOKED ALOT LIKE IT...thanks for sharing,,,cat engine impressive...bob

Truck was repowered with the V8 CAT long before we owned it. Its noisy, smoky when cold and doesn't make a ton of power, but it runs good and is still a lot of fun!

my grandfather had a few of those in the fleet years ago. the diamond Reo Version. 1968's with the 200 gold comet and 5 and 3. said they would run like a bear but couldn't keep the parts on them. fuel tanks, exhaust, rears, hood hinges would break and hood would flop over and rip all the headlite wiring out. good times.
