I just brought a 85 mack magnum superliner., The head are off it, the previous owner told me head gaskets were bad,one cylinder is out of it also,which i dont understand why,the sleeves has alittilt rust from sitting,need some advise should i just hone and re ring them or buy new cylinder packs and does anyone know where the best place to get them.Thanks

I would try to figure out how deep the rust spots are and could be removed by hone keeping the piston/liner clearance limit.

If the rust isn't hard you may just get it off with sandpaper.

Currently I have Mack E6 engine wich was factory rebuilt with no miles but stayed outside for years.

The crank is new excepting one main but all the liners need replace.

If you have the money, do an in-frame. Someone might have had a problem with the motor and started looking for the problem. Have the heads done, new pistons, rings, liners, and bearings. Than you'll know what you have.
