What ever style I end up with will most likely be fabricated as I don't want chrome or plastic and those seem to be the only options to purchase. In building a set what kind of clearances should there be to avoid tire rub? What are the advantages and drawback of each type (1/4 fender, 1/2 fender, full fender) and what type trailers are generally used with each? m16ty Posted October 19, 2015 Share Posted October 19, 2015 We usually run half fenders on our trucks. They will pretty much keep stuff off the cab, even pulling a lowboy. We would run full fenders but our drivers just tear them up, they are bad enough on the 1/2.1/4 fenders are about worthless.
