Hello everyone. Its a 2004 rb690s. Blink code 3-1 exhaust gas temperature.

FMI 4 voltage below normal or shorted low.

installed new sensor. Code came back.

checked voltage at connector for the guage 12.56v

sensor harness is not shorted checked with a meter.

I'm thinking the guage is defective?

Any thoughts?

Thanks again

  • 6 years later...

are you talking about the pyrometer? I had an issue with a CV some years ago,  I installed a pyrometer that had a thermo coupler and gauge. I popped out the black plug that say's Mack on it , next to the air valves and installed it there,  I think I went into the EECM and shut off the pyrometer setting...  it's been a few years, but the pyro worked..  jojo
