hi!

i wonder i someone could do some meassurements of the framerails on a r-model and mh? i think they have the same dimensions, but i need to find out :-)

ive found through research that the frames total width is 33,5" is that correct?

i need the dimensions on the rails though, the width, height and thickness would be great!

and if you have some good pics of the tandem assembly it would be great! :-)

in advance, thanks!

cheers, kim

In Aus the single rail and double rails were different height. Mine is a single, and it's just under 10.5inches high, and top and bottom flanges are about 3.5inches wide. 8mm thick.

The double rail are about 9inches high.

Hi,

Telling fast that's not as easy deal as you currently think.

For first, there are US and Aussie Macks and frames are different.

Most every classic Aussie Mack was built with R-model style frame.

R, RW, MH e t.c. I'm not an Austalian bloke though so could be wrong.

American R's were Eastern (Macungie) and Western (Hayward) models.

Eastern's had frame's front end wider and lower section than back of cab area.

Western's (wich were called RS/RL) had straight rails from front to end of constant heigth.

MH's had almost different frames of the style Superliner II had.

You need to keep in your mind that RWiI and early RW had different frame styles and you're about done figuring all that.

RW1 had the frame style of Cruiseliner.

I can help you with some measurments of Eastern R and MH Macks but need a bit of time to do that.

Do you have your interest for model building?

Here are some pics for you to start understanding what's what.

Where are you in Norway?

Extremely nice country, love fiords and waterfalls.

Feel free to PM me, I might be busy and forget to check this thread out.

Some R models had 9" X 3.25 " X .25" rails such as a R611ST.

10.625" X 3.25" X .3125" was used in RD685SX.

10.5" X 3.25" X .50" was used in RL600LS utilizing aluminum frame rails.

Vlad, is that your house in the MH picture? Looks very nice!

No, that's neigbour's one. Those folks are from Azerbaijan, a big family. They have a big balcony and can enjoy watching my yard full of old iron.

That area is my second land, just across the steet from the main one.

I have two brick buildings on the main. The big "the house" is actually a shop. The smaller one is where I live with a shop in the ground floor :)

Yes, the gates roll to a side, and I have a power drive for them with control on a key hanger.

Fences are traditional overhere. Earlier years wooden fences were common.

The most people who live in a privat house prefere to have a strong fence and a dog inside.

Police doesn't use to come in minutes after call so you better keep your doors closed in the night.

Guns aren't easy thing to have here either so not everybody has them.

It's generally calm recently but you can't be sure some one not steal just aluminium parts off your property to bring them to recycling for a bottle of Vodka worth.

By the word I'm not in a country. Just 10 km from the city of Moscow. So it's something like 5 miles from Newark airport.
