Did that used to sit some where along hwy. 83?

It could have,I don't know. I first saw it for sale a few years ago on Truck Paper, very nice looking truck, clean and supposed to have had low miles. Here is a pic from that ad,itwas in Western Iowa.Had they not wanted so much,I would have went and looked it over, wish I had now.

Last winter ranchhopper posted about it on here being in Sioux Falls,SD at Lund Truck parts, being parted out. I called about it and was told they aquired it thru a "Cash for Clunkers" kinda deal and it could not be sold complete or with a title,by the time I had called, they had already sold the rear ends, transmission, drivers door, and all the fuel tanks and stainless trim. They pulled the engine and I got what's left. The guy that picked it up for me said he couldn't believe how clean it was and the guy that loaded it said it made him sick to see it parted out,and was glad someone was going to save it.

least the hood, cab and nice bumper and grille are intact Mike. I didn't care for the tanks anyways and the rears and engine can be replaced

The hood, grille and bumper was my main reason for getting it,those early Western parts are hard to come by. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it,but at least it didn't get scattered further. 335's don't grow on trees so I might have to settle for something else to repower it. ,I know where's there's a damn good 290,physically not many could tell the difference.. The short aluminum frame kinda limits my options, too.

Don't know what the trip worth but seems like a good find.

Especially if those guys don't disturb the frame much removing the engine and rears.

What is that grill style?

Early series RS/RL or something else?

It would be a great candidate for an over size pickup body so you can run errands around town. Could give your Dodge diesel a rest.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

the 2 piece hinged grille, gullwing bumper and high hood were unique to the early ones,Vlad. The grille and bumper are especially hard to come by.

Thank you for the explanation Mike.

That was the old question of the kind you would like to get the answer but always miss a moment to pay attention to.

One other early option that this one doesn't have is a hinged aluminum access door for checking the radiator, like Ernie's V12 truck has. I'd really love to find one of those.

Hmmm... Now i'm in conclusion.

Do you mean a hinged access door as a lower part of the grill as yellow truck has?

Or any other door I can't see on the green one?

Sharp looking RL by the word.
