I really don't think I can get good enough pics to show,but just picture your normal everyday steel MH/RW frame rail cut off under the cab,then they slid the aluminum rail inside and bolted it.

That's pretty interesting. In the under the cab area RW/MH steel frame has higher section than at rear. Does this mean that aluminum rail has the contact area at the side and the top only?

Another question: do I remeber correctly that all RW1 both aluminium and steel frames had the split area with bolts under a cab?

Heres a top view of where the steel front frame section joins the aluminum on my superliner I will get better pics from underneath when I decide to get dirty later on today.

Just can't figure out exactly where that connection located. Right behind the battery box? Did you do those photos from under the hood?
