Commercial Carrier Journal (CCJ) / October 28, 2015

Cummins is recalling certain Cummins Westport ISL G natural gas engines sold exclusively for use in Navistar and Mack trucks.

The affected engines were manufactured between Sept. 13, 2007 and Sept. 23, 2015.

Cummins said the engines have a turbocharger oil supply line that may contact or interfere with the turbocharger inlet elbow, clean air intake clamp or the air fuel control tube, and result in an oil leak.

If the turbocharger oil supply line leaks around the exhaust manifold, there is an increased risk of a fire.

Approximately 3,020 engines are affected by this recall.

Cummins will notify owners, and dealers will inspect trucks for damage to the oil lines and replace it for free if necessary.

The recall is expected to begin Nov. 20.
