it's a '86 Freightliner,it ain't very pretty. The guy I got it from was going to fix it up,but just ended up using the bunk on a different truck, cab is really rought, wires hanging everywhere inside,

if that's gonna b a Rollin chassis ??let me know I have a nice 8-71 with a 15 speed I can stuff under that hood!! Call me if u want to sell her, but it has to have the rears!! I'm outta rears I used them in my glider kits!

I'm pretty certain I'm not going to use the rears. I want to make the RL a little longer so I can put one of my Mercury sleepers on it,and I think the best way to do that is go with Camelback suspension, slide the trunion all the way to the end of the existing frame, and then add on to the back, that way there won't be any stress on the welded area and I won't have to sleeve the aluminum rails with steel.

The cab and hood aren't that great,Ernie.

Good plan Mike!

Hope you'll put all that together relatively quick.

I like the idea of using Camelback. But you will need to weld up the frame rail ends with some aluminium pieces anyway.

At least it's difficult to imagine how to make alu rails longer adding a steel section.

Was it Ok to keep the truck loaded on the rollback keeping onle one rear axle on the bed?

I would be interested in the fronts hopefully they wont be to corroded where they bolt to the steel I need budds wheels didn't notice if they were hub piloted or not.

they are Budd type, but they have the Freightliner logo holes, that's why I don't want them,I already said something to my friend that's into these Portland POS's,he wants some other stuff of it too,but if he don't take the wheels I'll let you know.
