I'm guessing you have to pull the door apart to make it right as something must be disconnected or out of place. A torch would be fast but might make the repair more costly. I'd go for more difficult but cheaper.

Are the handles just floppy or bound up? Some additional detail might lend a clue. Good luck

Your door is too probably similar to a R-model door. Sure in case you have not just a R-model.

From what I learned playing with such the doors you can't allow any thing of the lock until remove the back panel.

It seemed to me a disaster to pass through though.

If you will do it with the window up.

Take the inside door panel off window rolled down it should pull out enough to get something in there to unlatch the door. Once you get it open take the latch assembly out and figure out what is broken or unhooked.
