Time for an oil analysis......Just because you can't see it in the oil, doesn't mean it isn't there.....Is it being burned and residual running down into the crankcase??? Pay the $15-$20 and get an analysis done.

I never could get any fuel mileage out of the '07 CHN's my son drove. 4 to 4.5 pulling a 53' livestock trailer. How much coolant are you losing? Do you have the stainless overflow tank or plastic? The stainless tank helps,but I've been told these were prone to "coolant push" and using some coolant was not unheard of.

Slow coolant leaks from inside the cooler are common on AC ASET engines. It will start small and then one day turn into clouds of white. I wanted to love that engine series but couldn't. Poor mileage, cooler failures and constant sensor issues. Pressure test that cooler. Some only start to leak as they heat up.
