1950's Custom-Line series?

Recommended Posts

there was a story or article about this truck along time ago in either Double Clutch or WOT,custom built in the trucking companies shop.

I found reference to it being an in house build but no info on drive train or chassis basis. Paul

Owl was located in Ca. or Nv.,as I recall. Like Mike said, they were famous for their shop built trucks. I remember reading a story in either HDT,Fleet Owner,or OVERDRIVE (years ago) about a Pete cabover they modified from new. They made it like 10 feet wide for some BIG stuff they were movin'. Definetly looks like IH Westcoaster fenders. Al

I am sure they used what ever they had on hand to do the job. Could be an IH chassis with Mack sheet metal?

The chassis has a good sized fish plate added.

Jim

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Anything is possible, It does appear to have a military powered steer axle (M-26 Pacific tractor?) and MACK rears if you blow up the photo. 5th wheel look to be from a WWII M-26 heavy tank transporter also.

Here is their history. They did heavy construction for the DOD and would explain all the ex military truck parts in the build.
