I've noticed one of my trunnion seals is leaking a little on my RD822sx. It's got the 65,000lb beam that requires gear oil in the trunnion.

I assume that the walking beam has to come off to replace that seal. I was just hoping there was a easier way as that seems like a whole lot of work.

I've replaced gear oil in similar situations with flowable grease (ie John Deere corn head grease). I wonder if this grease would provide enough lube for the trunnion? I'm thinking it may be ok as there's not a lot of hight speed movement there but I'm not really sure what all is in there. Is it bearings or just a bushing?
