Any of you fire buffs catch the news about Acton Mass last week? Aerial caught fire in the station- they managed to get truck out of the house before it became a real big time disaster. Not sure but I think it was a Pierce or E-One. News coverage on tube showed "melted" grille assembly

We had a Mack rescue squad catch fire in one of our stations which resulted in the total loss of the station as well as a quint and a couple of ambulances. The crew was extremely fortunate to get out alive. The fire was caused by the main battery cable shorting out against the frame.

Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are!

Acton, MA's ladder is a 2009 Pierce Arrow XT tower. In addition to the ladder they had an engine out of service for repair and last week their

2001 HME/Ferrara engine was involved in a collision with an automobile at an intersection. For now they are borrowing an E-One engine

from the Concord, MA Fire Department.. Hopefully, their bad luck has ended for a while.
