Here are a couple of E model buses.

Oooohhhh..... I'd snap one of those up! They look awesome! Wonder if that'd be too tall for my garage, though.....

My goal has always been to have a fire truck, a dump truck, and a school bus. I have two out of three. Just been waiting for the right school bus. I've always leaned toward a 1970's Loadstar/Bluebird combo, since that's what I rode on as a kid. Haven't found a nice enough one yet at the right price though. I suspect that something like one of these would be a bit pricey at this point. Anyone know what the numbers were for totals of Mack school busses made? Can I assume that they made the bodies as well, or did they just sell chassis to body makers like Wayne?

Matt Pfahl had a B model school bus for sale awhile back. You might check with him to see if he still has it.

Do you know if he had already restored it, or was it still in "raw" condition?

I think a restored one would most definitely be out of my price range.....

For the school bus, you might need a bigger door and a l o n g e r building!

Total production of about 700 units in various E models. About 600 B model buses were done. I can think of six that I have seen so a lot didn't survive but that is only the northeast. There may be more survivors down south, TX, CA, etc.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Paul, thank you for posting that great stuff.

As far as I remember Mack made one more attempt to produce buses.

It was about late 80's when in cooperation with Renault big interstate bus model was prepaired for production.

I read it in a magazine those days. Don't know if it finally came into production and don't remember we had any talks on that matter on here.

Renault- MACK FR-1 City Bus and PR-100 Interstate made it to production and sold in North America and Eastern Europe as MACKs. The FR-1 was popular with Pan Am and American Airlines as Airport Shuttle buses. The PR-100 never could compete with the other Bus makers in North America.

The body style looks familiar but I sure have never seen any Mack branded bus in Europe.

There are many ex-European buses in service in Russia, many touristic ones come from other countries either.

But none of them Macks showed out.
