Yeah that's cold for sure. I've seen it right around -40 here too. I wish I could find the link for the articlemthe local news paper did on the cold spell we had. It was really impressive, I remember something about 100 days straight the high never reached 32 degrees and 60 some days the high was in the single digits or something like that. All I know is 2010 was a piss ass cold winter here. I ice fished October through April that year.

the first time i expereinced a chinook wind up there really shook me to. i had heard about them but never paid much attention . got into the town of cut bank about 3 am with a load of golf carts to unload` local thermometer read -9 took a nap woke up about 930 am still below o started my unload and by 11;00 AM temp was up to 63 deg mud water everywhere and by 4:00 pm it was back to-4 below

Got to love Cut Bank. I unload a few miles north of Cut Bank. Never cared for that area much, always cool even in the summer and always windy.

Nice scenaries!

But I'm surprized seeing the river not frozen.

It's frozen in a few spots but not solid like normal. There were lots of icebergs floating in it that day so it seems it's really trying to frees up. Winter came late this year might also factor into it not freezing.
