China National Heavy Truck Company, also known as CNHTC and Sinotruk, saw its export truck sales rise 16.6 percent in 2015, despite a sluggish global economy, the company said Tuesday.

The Shandong, China-based truck manufacturer received export orders for over 40,000 heavy trucks in 2015, making it China’s largest exporter of commercial vehicles for the 11th consecutive year.

Company officials said burgeoning Southeast Asian and African markets contributed to the growth.

The Hong Kong-listed truckmaker has six overseas assembly plants and representation in 40 countries.
