wonder how many are still around?

I wonder how many were mistaken as an other make. Not many know MACK made trailers, truck bodies and aluminum lit off containers (look like a vintage Pod)

I know where there are two Mack trailers in northeast PA. Maybe they are not there anymore. They were in bad shape, but they still existed. I have thought many times about buying them, but always spend my money on something else. One was a flat trailer. The other had a cole body with multiple doors down each side. I have pictures somewhere but I don't know where. Mike

In one of my vintage BULLDOG magazines from the '60's,there was an article announcing MACK's re - entry in the trailer business. I never read any more on that second venture into trailer manufacturing. Maybe kscarbel2 can shed some light? Al

In the late 1960's Mack did announce that they were entering the trailer market. It was a venture between Mack and Theurer. The Mack trailer was ultimately going to be a rebadged Theurer which was built I believe in New Jersey. Several trailers existed and were used by Mack for testing and storage. There is not much history on the project and I am not aware that any of the trailers exist.

Thanks Doug. Al

Superdog, that tag you have is off of dump bodies Mack offered around the 20's. I believe the bodies were built for them by heil.

MACK ended dump body building in 1927 or 1928 and Heil took over the dumpers. The AB shown was one of the last style MACK built.

1926 MACK Aluminum Container and Ramp Track System to load and off load unit. Designed for less than a car load of freight.

1926 also was the year MACK built winches came out,PTO's and followed by MACK built 5th wheels in 1930. When you ordered a specific truck for MACK it was 95% MACK built.
