Looks alright to me and if it serves your purpose, it was worth the conversion.

As for your wife's opinion, "Did you ask her to give it"? "Momma" don't like none of my trucks either, but that has never stopped me..... yet.

I never asked for her opinion but you know how a wife is, she gives you her opinion wheather you want it or not.

It seems to run really well, quiets right down after a minute or two when she warms up but like an old work horse she needs some tlc

Most old Macks would much rather perform useful work rather that sitting idle.

Be wary if your wife starts to threaten the loss of your nuts. I've lived under the duress of this threat for many years and I still possess my equipment, including all of my Macks. That could change in a relatively short amount of time given her uncanny interest in sharp utinsils and knowing where I sleep!

I would say you are safe as long as you only get the "elevated eybrow" stare, or the "glare", (believe me, it ain't affection), that we guys are so accustomed to receiving.

Sure hope you get good service from the truck!

Do you have any idea of the empty weight of this beauty? It is a 6 yard box. The guy that I bought it from thought that it goes around 14,000 to 16,000. It is licsncensed at 33,000 lbs.

I do understand the fact that I do need to sleep with one eye open from now on. She gave me permission to buy the truck but it took about seven or eight really stiff bicardi and cokes to get it. :D

Just by looking at it in the supplied photos I would put the weight at about 13,500#.

That of course is just a guess.

My single axle tractor is 11,500#, so add a couple for the bed/stuff to work it.

Mine weighed right at 11,832#, (therabouts) minus a fifth wheel, but is a little longer in frame length.

I don't guess offering to teach her how to drive it is an option, huh? Maybe if she got to operate it a little she'd bond with it... :idunno:
