1964 B75LT SN 2168. I looked at this truck a few months ago e mailed the Mack Museum on some of the original specs. I never got a reply. At this time I do not need a new project. Thought some one else would be interested. Truck is located in Versailles, OH. Owners # 937 526 3260 asking $7500.

If any of you are interested in this truck why don't you call this person and make an offer on it and see what happens anytime someone puts something up for sale you have to have a starting point on price this is his asking price may or may not be his selling price like my dad and grandpa always told me when you have something for sale put your price high you can always come down but if you put your low you can't go up

true, gotta start somewhere but some people unrealistic starting points. id say that's a 3500 truck but me being a cheap bastard it looks more like 2500 to me. the frame bent isn't really an issue cause if it was mine I would make it a single axle again anyways

My Grandpa always told me the same thing. Half the fun of buying something is negotiating.

I have a number of questions.

What does it have for a motor?

Which transmission does it have?

Also some folks may get offended if you start out with too low an offer. Tricky business those negotiations can be. It is only worth what the market is willing to pay for it.

looked at one similar to this one about 5 years ago. fenders were shot, cab floor was rotted, 673 with triplex. offered guy 1800, he laughed, i went to 2500. he wanted 5000, no negotiating. few weeks later, he scrapped it when scrap was worth $80 a ton..... you do the math.

Maddog,

Some people I have run into would rather let a truck or piece of equipment rot into the ground than let it go for anything less than what they want. The problem is they are doing both themselves and the equipment a disservice. I fully understand the effort of trying to get as much as you can out of the truck, but letting it go to scrap is a waste of a unit that can be, at the very least, used for parts. Add to that, the fellow you mention, sold it for 800.oo which is was only to his own detriment. With internet and sites like BMT, there is no reason why people can't do a little homework and get a ballpark idea what their old truck is worth.

Job41 the motor is a 673 I think. It is in a barn with poor lighting . I forgot to bring a flashlight. The trans is a 18 speed quad. A turbo has been added. I was impressed with how straight the bumper was and the visor. I spent the afternoon with the owner and his wife retired school teachers. We graduated from the same university the same year. I believe anything he would tell you about the truck would be correct as he seemed to be a straight up person. I have no interest in the truck and only passing this information on in hopes this hobby will grow and not die out like the antique tractors have.

Key word here is IF . I'm just going by what I can see,but IF it is as solid as it looks in the pics, and IF it runs,he's not that out of line on price in my opinion. Turbo engine and Quad is a big plus, aluminum tanks, looks like the hood is nice, and any of us that owns 70 series B models know how hard it is to find one with a good hood, radiator and shutters look nice, those are high dollar to come up with. A b61 in similar shape would be a solid $4500 to 5000 truck and we know how many 61's they made, only 1619 B75's .IF it was mine I wouldn't take any less than $6k for it,IF it is as good as decribed
