Just wondering if any of you B61 owners who have worked on the B Model shutter actuator could share troubleshooting information. The one on my truck (1961 B61 END673) didn't work when I got it. Haven't taken it apart, but it may have bad seals inside. Looks like a simple system, but not sure how it's suppose to work since I've never seen one work. Just another learning curve right? Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Most of the time they just need taking apart and cleaning.. You can save the large rubber seal sometimes but I went to a local rubber gasket company and purchased a new one. Took it home and put vasoline on it, cleaned the housing and wick gause and put some lite oil in the resevoir. Do check it with an air compressor if you have one , once it's together to see if it is going to work on the truck. Then if all is good it is ready to put back on the truck.

Best regards

Like Mike said generally the seals die from old age. I sat down with the seals and and an Automotive O ring seal box and found what I needed to replace them. The actuator is activated by the shutterstat mounted behind the upper hose. air line in and one out to actuator. The shutterstat has a set up in it similar to a thermostat. See if you have air to it and run up to temp and see if you have air out to shutter actuator. Some B's like mine, even with a 6 pound cap and 170 thermostat, never get hot enough to make the shutters work properly, so mine are always open. The air diverter valve in it also gets full of gunk and can be flushed out. If it is bad WATTs has new # 783 for $225. Yup it's pricey.
