Originally the ASF 400C was the premium wheel, the Simplex name came later and was a cheaper wheel. The 400 you adjusted using shims installed between the front jaw and buffing rubber. These are the wheels you have to back up on to "pull the pin". The Simplex wheel used a hex headed eccentric pin in the jaw mechanism to adjust for wear.
