Hello guys and gals

I am a newbe here from Cobourg Ontario Canada, Just purchased my first Mack  a 2009 Pinnacle with a 72 inch bunk and an MP8 485 HP with a 13 speed fuller and 355 rears.

I am looking for some info about the MP8 DPF system I am not familiar with the DPF. Can this be deleted for better performance and fuel economy. I will be hauling refers at 45 to 47,000 pounds  on various roads types from steep hills to flats. Any information about this motor and fuel economy I can expect would be greatly appreciated. and if anyone has some ideas on mods or upgrades for both performance, reliability and just kool ideas for some extra bling.

Just want to thank everyone in advance for your time to assist me with my request.

Respectfully, Archie

I don't know about Ontario but I'd imagine it's similar to Manitoba. Manitoba just revised their safeties.  They are now annually instead of every 6 months.  They also threw in a nifty new requirement.  Emissions systems must function on that truck exactly how they came from factory on the year of the unit.  So for eg an 09 would need a functioning dpf and Egr system.  No functioning emissions, no safety.

  • 4 months later...

dunno is it legal or not, but i do know that it did save my ass!

i spent thousands fixing the bad dpf system on a mack mp8 of mine.

i got a delete done through http://truckecmtunes.com/ and i had 0 issues since.

my dpf is drilled, and my egr is blocked off. no regens, no leaks, nothing!
