Should have been a recall item.

It was a product improvement. The jumper was free.  We installed a bunch as they came through. Some slipped through the cracks? Or people changed the tank and didn't understand the purpose? Who knows?

Only thing I see that's bothering me is that my oil and coolant temp gauges are staying around 160 degrees .they are usually around 185 for coolant and 200 for oil.wonder if the new ecm had gauges with different resistance values ??

Does this also happen to the engine oil sensor .when I pull the top connector from the ecm there was oil there also.

Oil doesn't cause corrosion, it prevents it. So even if it does occur it won't cause the same damage the coolant will.

I thought as much.i reckon all the chemical components in coolant along with the 12v power coming from those pins acted like an electrolysis machine and just ate them up.

Check for the wiring near the driver side battery box. It tends to short out rubbing against a bolt due to poor placement. It will shut down everything and if it's an mdrive give you the stars. If not there check the fuses one inside behind the speedo it's a 10a and the other is a 20a above the radio.
